Position Overview:
Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000. This role involves providing direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the supervision of a registered nurse, in accordance with the Licensed Practical Nurse Act.
The LPN will guide and support ancillary nursing staff with their responsibilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Exhibiting professionalism is crucial, as the LPN will be accountable for their own practice and will assist other healthcare team members in delivering high-quality, personalized care.
Sign-on Bonus Available. Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.Educational Requirements:
Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure and Certifications:
Required - Current LPN license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred - IV therapy credentials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills, self-motivated, and sound judgment are essential. Excellent interpersonal and delegation abilities are required. The candidate must handle confidential information appropriately and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
The LPN will effectively utilize the nursing process in patient care delivery through assessment, planning, and evaluation. Care will be provided based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, tailored to the patient demographics served. The LPN will communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive patient experience. Adaptability to rapid changes in unit/department needs is essential. The LPN will manage their professional development and maintain necessary clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Physical and Environmental Considerations:
The essential physical functions of this role include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. The physical demands exceed those for sedentary work. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. This position routinely involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues.
The incumbent will work in a patient care area, directly with patients, and may handle specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There is an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.Due to the healthcare environment, there may also be a risk of exposure to hazardous medications or waste through various processes, including receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and disposal of contaminated materials.
The level of exposure risk may vary based on the specific job duties involved.
