Job Summary

Ardent Health Services Portneuf Medical Center is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring patients, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and assisting with deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with labor room setup and maintenance, including preparing equipment and supplies.
  • Handle specimens and interface with lab and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Requirements
  • BLS certification required.
  • Accepts first-time travelers.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records.
Work Environment

Ardent Health Services Portneuf Medical Center is a 10-bed labor and delivery unit with 2 ORs and 3 triage beds. The unit delivers approximately 100 babies per month, with an average of 23% c-sections. The team takes high-risk labor patients and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Equipment
  • Sterilization and aseptic technique.
  • Case cart and equipment management.
  • Computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Additional Information

A 100-mile radius rule is in effect. Travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be qualified for this position.
