Job Description:

Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on the facilities, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. This role will work closely with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to prioritize tasks and ensure that all maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and performing minor repairs
  • Assist with departmental and employee moves, including disassembling and reassembling furniture
  • Hang pictures and shelving as needed
  • Transport goods or equipment as assigned
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for all powered equipment, unscheduled maintenance, and preventive maintenance
  • Provide immediate assistance to automated production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and keep production on schedule

Requirements:

  • Mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mentality
  • Ability to take direction and ownership of tasks
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
  • Ability to utilize/view a PC and/or monitor
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work at heights of 20 feet
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Able to work in a refrigerated environment most of the day
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation

Education and Experience:

  • Certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience related to a specific trade or general facilities and/or general maintenance background
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily conducted in the office and food production environment. This position may require night, vacation, and/or weekend work.
