West Fraser is seeking a highly skilled Millwright Level 2 to join our Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the safe and efficient application of technical skills and knowledge to maintain industrial machinery, conveyors, and mechanical systems associated with the manufacturing of forestry products.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers, and mechanical systems
- Read and understand technical drawings and printed instructions
- Work safely under high-pressure situations and possess basic understanding of line-ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
- Adjust the tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools
- Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
- Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill
- Replace defective parts of a machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
- Level bed-plate and establish a center line using straightedge, levels, and transit
- Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
- 5 years of experience working on industrial equipment in a production setting
- Cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene) and welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)
- Safety-oriented and compliant with ZES
- Willing to work overtime and be on-call to support operations
- Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent experience
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
- Minimum score of 80 on the Maintenance Assessment
