Position Overview
The role involves conducting field assessments on various properties, both residential and commercial, to accurately identify the positions of underground utilities. This is achieved through the utilization of specialized equipment such as Electromagnetic Locators (EM) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), with findings meticulously documented in comprehensive reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough field investigations of utility systems on diverse terrains.
- Utilize Electromagnetic Locators (EM) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to ascertain the locations of underground utilities.
- Compile and maintain detailed records of findings.
- Operate survey-grade GPS systems effectively.
- Adapt to challenging work environments, including seasonal outdoor conditions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project success.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods, up to two weeks at a time.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is preferred.
- Familiarity with Electromagnetic Locators (EM) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of common utility infrastructure.
- Background in construction, electrical work, plumbing, or hydro-vac operations is advantageous.
