Job Overview

Southern California Veterinary Dental Specialties Inc is seeking a skilled part-time Veterinary Care Assistant to work on designated weekdays. The ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in veterinary dentistry, anesthesia, and providing outstanding care to both clients and patients.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27 to $30, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced setting while fostering relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Deliver outstanding service to clients and patients.
  • Possess knowledge of Fear Free techniques; certification is preferred, with access to training provided if necessary.
  • Understand common medications and assist in medication preparation.
  • Experience with dental radiography and cone-beam CT (VetCat IQ) is beneficial; training will be offered if needed.
  • Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Assist in procedures such as IV catheter placements and blood draws.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Ensure cleanliness of medical equipment and instruments.
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of patients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kennels and manage laundry duties.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the veterinary field performing relevant duties is required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning, and maintaining constant movement.

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork are essential for success in this role.
