Controller Job Description

Michael Page is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our client's team in Aurora, IL. As a key member of the leadership team, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting and finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Support the company's overall growth strategy by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage inventory and purchase forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet business needs.
  • Administer ERP and related IT systems, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary information for the annual audit.
  • Manage the bank line of credit, including preparing periodic borrowing base reports.
  • Ensure compliance with bank and other financial partner requirements.
  • File quarterly and annual taxes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and accounting standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in Accounting and Finance, with a focus on supervisory or management roles.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or distribution sector is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to senior leadership.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
