Job Summary

Sunset Senior Living is seeking a skilled Laundry Specialist to join our team. As a Laundry Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our residents' clothing, linens, and other items.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, sort, and process residents' personal clothing, bedding, towels, and facility linens in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operate industrial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Identify and treat stains, damages, or special care items to ensure optimal cleaning results.
  • Fold, iron, and properly organize clean laundry, ensuring it is neatly returned to residents' rooms or designated areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laundry room, including routine equipment cleaning and reporting any maintenance or operational issues.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and nursing staff to ensure the prompt return of laundered items to residents.
  • Assist with special requests, such as handling delicate items or urgent laundry needs for residents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in laundry services, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting, is a plus.
  • Ability to operate industrial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.
  • Knowledge of laundry techniques, including stain treatment and fabric care.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs, and occasionally up to 50lbs, and stand for extended periods.
  • A commitment to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate attitude towards senior residents.
