The HVAC Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the Master HVAC Technician by executing repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems.
Essential Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the commercial-industrial sector is necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to accurately identify issues with HVAC systems and perform necessary repairs is essential. Completion of HVAC training programs endorsed by manufacturers or accredited institutions is preferred. Candidates must possess EPA Certification for refrigerant handling and demonstrate basic computer proficiency, with the ability to learn specific software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute work orders as directed by the Supervisor.
- Conduct routine inspections of air conditioning systems, including filter replacements and cleaning of ice machines.
- Assist the HVAC Supervisor in maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Ensure all HVAC workspaces and tools are kept in a tidy and organized manner.
- Notify the Supervisor of significant repair or replacement needs for HVAC systems.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance professional knowledge.
- Support colleagues in their responsibilities as required.
- Safeguard tools and equipment entrusted to your care.
- Communicate with relevant personnel regarding the status of repairs or system conditions.
- Exhibit a positive demeanor, adaptability, and readiness to undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Respond to emergency calls outside of regular hours.
Includes small hand tools, drills, testing devices, vacuum pumps, refrigeration recovery tools, and acetylene/oxygen equipment.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves significant walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting (over 45 pounds). The position may require irregular hours.
Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying temperatures, high-pressure systems, and confined spaces.
Employment Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: 7 - Auxiliary
Days Required: 240
Reports To: HVAC Supervisor
