Corewell Health is currently offering a competitive sign-on bonus for this full-time, 12-hour night shift position on the 5 North unit.

About the Unit: The 5 North unit is a 38-bed facility dedicated to providing care for a diverse range of medical, surgical, and chronically ill patients. This unit specializes in managing conditions such as diabetes (including insulin drips) and renal failure (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis).

The unit is equipped to accommodate patients requiring telemetry and oximetry monitoring, ensuring a high standard of care.

Patient Care Approach: Our nursing staff partners with academic institutions to support student nurses through mentorship and guidance. We prioritize delivering exceptional healthcare services that are efficient, effective, and compassionate, while also welcoming family involvement.

About Farmington Hills Hospital: Recognized by U.S. News and World Report for excellence in various procedures and conditions, this facility is a Magnet-designated hospital known for nursing excellence. Established in 1965, it has evolved into a Level II trauma center and serves as the primary teaching hospital for Michigan State University.

Scope of Work: The Registered Nurse (RN) will operate under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients while incorporating patient-family centered care principles.

The RN will provide quality care under the guidance of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and recognizing the influence of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on outcomes.

The RN will engage with patients and families to develop care plans and educational strategies, documenting all relevant information in the health record.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required within five years
  • For graduates from non-accredited nursing programs, at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role is necessary, along with successful completion of the NCLEX examination.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Work Schedule: This position is full-time, with night shifts scheduled from 7:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M., and variable days and weekends.
