Job Title: Senior Residential Assistant

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is a leading non-profit social service agency serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Assistant to join our team at St. Rocco's Family Shelter in Newark, NJ.

Job Summary:

The Senior Residential Assistant will provide essential support services to residents and visitors at our shelter, ensuring a safe and stable environment. This role involves monitoring activities, supervising building areas, and responding to crisis situations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing program documentation, facilitating support groups, and promoting housing prevention programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor resident and visitor activities to maintain program policies and safety parameters
  • Supervise and secure building areas, responding promptly to crisis situations
  • Complete program documentation, including logs, statistics, incident reports, and work orders
  • Facilitate parents anonymous groups and housing prevention programs
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of related experience
  • OR 7 years of experience working with the homeless population in lieu of HSD/GED
