Music Therapist

The Music Therapist provides music therapy services to patients under the direction of the clinical supervisor or clinical director, as outlined in the individualized plan of care.

• Provides direct music therapy services according to the plan of care and under the direction of the clinical supervisor or clinical director.
• Assesses patients for medical indication for services and performs assessments to determine the effectiveness of therapy.
• Treats patients to relieve symptoms and provide psychological, psychosocial, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Directs and aids patients through music therapy interventions to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, agitation, restlessness, depression, pain, emotional distress, and social isolation.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and any changes in patient condition to the clinical supervisor or clinical director and organization personnel.
• Maintains necessary records, including clinical notes, problem charting, and coordination notes.

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
• Completion and passing of the National Certification Exam (CBMT) credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified preferred.
• Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
