Position Overview:
The Certified Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for delivering direct patient care in all facets of respiratory therapy, adhering to physician directives. This role involves consulting with physicians regarding the efficacy of treatment and serving as an advanced resource for both medical and nursing staff concerning respiratory care. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program is required.

Licensure:
Must meet state licensure standards and possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.

Experience:
No prior experience is necessary.

Certifications:
Must hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For those working in emergency settings, PALS certification is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:
Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, and grip weights up to 50 lbs, as well as pinch up to 10 lbs. The role may require kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.

Equipment Utilized:
All relevant respiratory care apparatus.

Preferred Qualifications:
Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Experience:
Critical care experience is advantageous.
