Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient scheduling and facilitate smooth patient flow. Assist patients in navigating to examination or procedure rooms, providing support as necessary with mobility, dressing, and preparation for medical evaluations.
- Gather and document patient medical histories, including vital signs and preliminary screenings in accordance with provider protocols. Communicate essential information to patients and their families.
- Handle the transmission of patient medical records while adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all medical instruments and equipment are set up per departmental guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and infection control protocols between patient visits.
- Oversee inventory management of medical supplies, ensuring exam and procedure rooms are adequately stocked.
- Adhere to all regulations set forth by governing bodies, including OSHA and CLIA, while maintaining confidentiality regarding patient records and sensitive information.
- Conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests, assisting physicians during clinical procedures and accurately documenting patient information in medical records.
- Respond to incoming calls, providing relevant information and patient education as directed.
- Coordinate the acquisition of lab/x-ray reports and referral information, managing appointment scheduling and verifying patient insurance details.
- Under physician supervision, administer medications and vaccines as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Basic computer proficiency is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and responsibilities related to examination and treatment rooms is preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
- CPR certification is required, including both theoretical and practical components.
- Compliance with Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances is necessary.
