Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper / Porter to join our team at Liverangewater. As a Housekeeper / Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our community, including common areas, amenities, and resident units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain all common areas, including office space, amenities, and common area restrooms.
  • Inspect the community regularly to remove litter and debris and ensure all common areas are neat and free of litter.
  • Remove trash and remaining items from vacant apartments and transfer trash to dumpster or storage area as applicable.
  • Complete make-ready cleaning for vacant apartments to ensure they are move-in ready.
  • Assist the make-ready specialist in the turn process and complete assigned requests by the Service Director and/or Community Director.
  • Distribute notices and communications to residents as necessary.
  • Inform supervisors of any observed hazards or potentially dangerous situations for residents, team members, guests, and others.
  • Provide excellent customer service by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, and responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Employment history demonstrating safe use of cleaning chemicals, hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with product labels, safety, and policy and procedures manuals.
  • Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions to complete basic duties.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
  • Rudimentary knowledge and ability to access company software and perform standard repetitive tasks.

Incumbents work both inside and outside of apartment buildings and in all areas of the property, including amenities. Housekeepers / Porters have frequent exposure to and handling of cleaning chemicals and to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, type, handle or feel objects, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, and squat. Incumbents must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities and must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet.

Housekeepers / Porters must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty-five (25) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
