Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy to patients and their families, as well as consulting with the interdisciplinary care team on service. This position requires a strong academic background and applied background in clinical nutrition, with knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy principles, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the provision of medical nutrition therapy
  • Provide nutritional counseling and education to patients and their caregivers
  • Provide educational experience to interns and other professional staff
  • Promote nutrition within the medical center and throughout the community
Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required based on area assignment within 3 months of hire or upon an assignment change requiring BLS
  • Bachelor's (or higher degree) in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field or equivalent degree
  • Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience, approved or accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty Certification in area of practice preferred (e.g., but not limited to, CNSC, CSO, CDCES, CSR, CSG, CSP, CSPCC, CSOWM, CSSD, RDN-AP/RD-AP, etc.)
  • For Pediatric positions/assignments: California Children's Services (CCS) Dietitian Paneling designation (or eligible to obtain within one year) is strongly preferred
  • Two (2) or more years relevant work experience preferred
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work variable shifts (including weekends and holidays), hours, and to rotate to various units/buildings/areas to meet the operational needs of the Department.

This is a critical position, as defined by UC policy and local procedures, and as such, employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check(s), including but not limited to criminal record history background check(s)

This position is designated as a mandated reporter under CANRA and UC policy, and employment is contingent on compliance with applicable policies, procedures and training requirements
