Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting pharmacists with prescription dispensing, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription dispensing, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, and verifying medicine is correct.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including restocking shelves, cleaning equipment, and disposing of hazardous waste.
  • Process prescriptions, including entering patient and drug information, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Support pharmacy staff with clinical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples, and assisting with medical provider detailing and outreach.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Requirements
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information online).
