Dietitian - DE

The Indian Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Nutrition Professional to join our team at the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing professional work of nutrition directed towards the maintenance and improvement of health in various settings.

• Plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition services, education, and prevention with special emphasis on individual and family-oriented education.
• Conduct nutritional assessments, use evidence-based tools to calculate nutrient requirements, and interpret nutritional needs.
• Provide health education/promotion interventions, including breastfeeding support to individuals and groups.
• Guide individuals/families in food selection, preparation, or menu planning based on nutritional needs and established guidelines.
• Record information in medical records and participate in routine record maintenance in compliance with the Privacy Act and organizational policies.

• Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science.
• Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
• Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.

This position is located in the Chinle Service Unit, Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility, Division of Public Health, Clinical Community Nutrition Services, Chinle, AZ.

The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain Registered Dietitian privileges, including any licensure requirements.
