About Railserve
Railserve is a premier provider of in-plant rail switching, transloading, and material handling services, operating across numerous locations in North America. We utilize our own locomotives and skilled personnel to safely transport railcars within various industrial and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of this position include:
- Conducting scheduled and emergency maintenance on all company locomotives efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Rebuilding diesel engine components of locomotives.
- Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
- Maintaining accurate records, including preventative maintenance logs and expense reports.
- Addressing environmental concerns appropriately, such as the disposal of hazardous materials.
- Wearing necessary personal protective equipment at all times.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing locomotives.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate cutting torches and welders.
Work Environment
This position requires regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and may involve working nights, weekends, and holidays. Employees will frequently interact with moving mechanical parts and may encounter fumes or airborne particles.
