Boiler Room Operator

Job Summary
A skilled Boiler Operator is needed to operate and maintain multiple boilers and associated equipment within the Trane Technologies campus. This position involves operating and maintaining the steam plants on campus, including multiple steam traps and condensate stations scattered across the campus. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, as well as the ability to adjust water chemicals to maintain the required water chemistry and repair boiler controls.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and pass all required training and classes.
- Be available to work holidays and days off when required.
- Tolerate and work in temperature extremes.
- Be trained for confined space entry, man lifts, and various PIVS.
- Test boiler water and balance system with chemicals.
- Record water and chemical tests in logs, manual and electronic.
- Make good decisions and meet all regulatory training, qualification, and certification requirements.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be willing and able to switch shifts based on season/boiler usage.
- Work with limited supervision and follow standard work.
- Complete production and maintenance records and other documentation related to operations.
- Participate in basic problem solving, 5-S, and lean activities.
- Meet and maintain all safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate and work well with a diverse group of employees and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated reliability.
- Subject to completion of company-approved aptitude testing.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Boiler operator's license or associates degree in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-mechanical technologies at a minimum.
- Computer skills and willingness to learn multiple Boiler/Building software programs.
- Manual dexterity.
