Key Responsibilities
  • Layout and Setup: Perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools to produce high-quality parts.
  • Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Read and interpret all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Designing Setup Methods: Design setup methods where none exist.
  • Instructing Others: Instruct other shop personnel on proper machining techniques.
  • Improving Methods: Continually improve methods to deliver higher quality with improved costs.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training.
  • Skills: Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.
  • Experience: Four years of experience in machine shop operations.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Overtime: Openness to working overtime as required.
