Job Summary

The Cashier is a key member of our sales team, responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth checkout experience for our customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Project a positive and welcoming image of Westlake Hardware, Inc. at all times.
    • Greet customers entering and throughout the store, thanking them by name when possible.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly and effectively to customer inquiries and concerns.
    • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently, ensuring a smooth and seamless shopping experience.
    • Communicate any issues or concerns to management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Register Operations
    • Process cash register transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
    • Balance the register drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Participate in store and sales team meetings, providing input and feedback on sales strategies and customer service initiatives.
  • Front End Appearance and Upkeep
    • Maintain a clean and organized front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors.
    • Assist with stocking and facing merchandise, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized store environment.
    • Ensure that all necessary supplies and forms are stocked and readily available.
    • Participate in decorating the front end, adhering to company branding and visual standards.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Cashier experience preferred, with a strong background in customer service and sales.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Compensation and Benefits
