About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Therapy team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in localization procedures using CT or conventional radiographic techniques
  • Obtain patient contours and assist in outlining anatomical structures and target volumes in three dimensions
  • Discuss treatment plans with physicians, including planned tumor dose and maximum acceptable doses to normal tissue
  • Generate isodose distributions via computer and perform calculations for accurate delivery of prescribed dose
  • Prepare treatment aids and beam modifying devices, including head holders, molds, shields, cradles, compensators, and others as needed
  • Assist in verification of treatment plans through treatment simulation using CT or conventional radiographic techniques
  • Enter treatment parameters in record/verify system
  • Participate in routine quality control program, including weekly chart checks and chart rounds
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program
  • Board eligible with certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) within two years of graduation from the program
  • Minimum of 2 years of dosimetry experience
