Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our team at Childrens Home of Jefferson. As a key member of our interdisciplinary mental health team, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to clients and their families, including individual, family, and group therapies, crisis intervention, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct intakes and interviews to assess client needs and develop treatment plans.
  2. Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings to discuss new cases and formulate treatment plans.
  3. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups to address mental health symptoms and improve functioning.
  4. Make referrals to community agencies and facilities to arrange for supportive services.
  5. Provide emotional support and guidance to clients and their families.
  6. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a valid NYS driver's license, a strong understanding of mental health principles and practices, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with opportunities for part-time schedules. You will work in a regular office environment with occasional travel required. Remote work may be permitted with Executive Director approval.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, walking, memory, concentration, sitting, hearing, carrying, speaking, writing, bending, pulling, problem solving, lifting, reaching, kneeling, running, seeing, reading, and climbing.

Requirements and Qualifications

You must have a valid NYS driver's license and meet the requirements for licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSW-R). You must also complete routine pre-employment requirements and ongoing clearances and exclusion checks.
