Job Overview

Alderwood Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to support our mission of providing exceptional care in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently sorts, washes, dries, folds, and presses linens and resident garments.
  • Restocks linen closets and carts for nursing units, ensuring all areas are well supplied.
  • Delivers freshly laundered linens and clothing to resident rooms in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace at all times.
  • Conducts routine maintenance on laundry equipment, including cleaning lint traps and removing detergent residue.
  • Identifies and discards stained, damaged, or otherwise unacceptable linens.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and regular attendance for scheduled shifts.

Additional Duties:

  • Completes other assigned tasks as necessary.
  • Adheres to the standards outlined in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, as well as all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write at a level suitable for the position.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, and staff at all levels.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exhibits patience and politeness in all interactions.
  • Willingness to learn the operation of laundry machines and associated equipment.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting is advantageous.
