Position Overview:
The Oakville School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Success and Attendance Specialist to join our team.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Summary:
The Academic Success and Attendance Specialist will provide critical support to our district in addressing the needs of Indian Education students and ensuring attendance compliance.
This long-term substitute position requires a collaborative and student-centered approach, working closely with students, teachers, and families to promote academic success and improve attendance rates.
Responsibilities:
- Provide cultural and academic support to Indian Education students, promoting their academic growth and well-being.
- Monitor and track attendance records for all students in the district, identifying areas of concern and developing strategies to improve attendance.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement effective attendance and academic success strategies, ensuring timely and accurate data collection and analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and other relevant data, utilizing data-driven insights to inform district initiatives.
- Participate in regular meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in Indian Education and attendance management.
- Other duties as assigned by the school district, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with Native American students and families, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian Education programs and services, including relevant policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Familiarity with attendance policies and procedures, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely reporting.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, responding to changing needs and priorities.
