Position Overview:
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is in search of an Educational Technology Program Manager to oversee instructional technology initiatives at Las Positas College.

Role Responsibilities:
Under supervision, manage all aspects of instructional technology and remote learning, which includes strategic planning, curriculum design, staff management, and providing pedagogical and technical training for online education.

Key Duties:
1. Plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise the work of personnel responsible for the coordination of distance education, including web-enhanced, hybrid, and online courses.
2. Lead strategic planning efforts for distance education programs.
3. Assess the needs of a diverse faculty and develop training sessions to support instructional technology use.
4. Design, implement, and evaluate technology-enhanced lessons for traditional classroom settings.
5. Create and assess online courses that are pedagogically sound and enhance technology-based instruction.

Support and Administration:
Provide continuous pedagogical support to faculty integrating technology into their teaching practices. Train faculty on various instructional technologies to create effective learning materials. Administer the Canvas learning management system (LMS) to ensure optimal course efficiency, including support and training for faculty and staff.

Collaboration:
Engage with faculty and technology staff to assist in the design and development of instructional materials that are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. Coordinate the use of learning management systems and supplemental materials for distance education.

Professional Development:
Represent the college at professional development events, conferences, and organizations. Manage the instructional technology budget, including annual licenses and the procurement of hardware and software.

Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years in instructional design within an educational setting; classroom teaching experience is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with instructional technology operations, design principles, and distance education policies. Proficiency in budget preparation and administration, as well as various software tools for instructional design.

Abilities:
Ability to coordinate instructional technology programs, assess faculty needs, and provide training. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse populations.

Work Environment:
This position is primarily based in a classroom and office setting, requiring physical mobility and the ability to operate office equipment.
