About the Role:

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - MRI Expert will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners. This role requires a strong understanding of the American College of Radiology (ACR) "Practice Parameters and Technical Standards" and the ARRT "Standards of Ethics".

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform magnetic resonance procedures based on ACR and ARRT guidelines
  • Understand and adhere to preparation, positioning, coil selection, and exam sequences according to the Department Protocol book
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities using the "APIE" model
  • Maintain knowledge of all MRI equipment, computers, EPIC, and PACS
  • Prepare and/or administer contract media in accordance with the Radiology Contrast Policy
  • Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, administer first aid/CPR as needed, and follow specific MRI Safety guidelines
  • Record patient symptom history on requisition

Requirements:

  • Clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, required
  • Certification by the ARRT in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine, and/or state licensure, required
  • Certification by ARRT in MRI, required
  • Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure, required
  • Ability to obtain BLS during employment
