The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a talented Transportation Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Bridge Project Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing highway structures and transportation improvement projects.

Your Role:

You will have a degree in Civil, Construction or Structural Engineering and be passionate about delivering excellent results. Your analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills will enable you to work collaboratively with our team.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • Performing structural analysis and design of different types of simple to moderately complex highway structures.
  • Drawing models of proposed structures for project plans and ensuring that all necessary details and specifications are included.
  • Reviewing plans and shop drawings submitted by outside sources for approval.
  • Assisting in inspections and analyzing deficiencies, with recommendations and cost estimates.
  • Managing simple to moderately complex projects assigned to ensure completion and accuracy.
