Job Title: Environmental Geographer

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Geographer to join our team. As an Environmental Geographer, you will play a critical role in building process-based ecosystem models for Department of Defense (DoD) lands.

Responsibilities:
  • Acquire and process geospatial data from various sources
  • Develop input files for process-based models
  • Collaborate with model experts from universities, agencies, and entities across the country
  • Conduct research independently and in a team setting
  • Prepare technical proposals and reports
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field
  • Prior military experience or experience working with the DoD
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and Bash
  • Experience with geospatial analysis and process-based modeling
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
