Key Responsibilities

Radiology Technician Support Specialists are tasked with the following duties:

  • Ensures patient safety by confirming patient identity and verifying the availability of necessary documentation, including screening forms and lab reports.
  • Prepares the examination room and assists patients, ensuring all required equipment is ready before procedures commence.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned to support the radiology team.
The Radiology Technician Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting technologists by providing essential support, which includes patient interaction, transportation, clerical tasks, and preparation for imaging procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior medical experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong customer service and patient care skills are preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Employment Conditions

Covid Vaccination is mandatory for employment at Jefferson for individuals working within clinical settings. Candidates not currently vaccinated must receive the vaccination prior to their start date unless a valid medical or religious exemption is granted.

Background Checks

Due to the nature of this position involving regular interaction with children, candidates must comply with the Child Protective Services Act, which includes a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, a Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse clearance, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. Employment will not commence until all three checks are satisfactorily completed.
