In and Out Urgent, LLC is a rapidly growing healthcare organization seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to work in a fast-paced urgent care environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for x-ray procedures, explain procedures to patients and/or family members, and position patients for optimal diagnostic imaging.
- Operate x-ray equipment, adjust settings as needed, and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Develop, mark, and file x-ray images and reports, and burn images to disc when required.
- Practice ALARA principles to minimize patient and medical team exposure to radiation.
- Observe patients and equipment during procedures, report unusual occurrences, and document patient conditions.
- Prepare charts for patient appointments, document procedures performed, and enter information into the electronic medical record.
- Clean and disinfect x-ray rooms and equipment, maintain and order DME supplies.
- Perform routine x-ray exams, perform x-ray quality assurance tests, and maintain quality assurance records.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited radiology technology program.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of specific and OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures.
- At least six months of x-ray experience and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
- Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher when necessary.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts during the week and 8-hour shifts on weekends, including holiday hours as needed.
- Great computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
- Types 60 words per minute with 96% accuracy.
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Current certification and/or state licensure in radiology technology in Louisiana required.
- Current BLS Certification required.
