Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hood Container Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on production equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems.
- Remove and replace defective parts, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools as needed.
- Adjust and calibrate functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure proper operation.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and anticipating needed items.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
- Excellent troubleshooting and installation skills.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic conveyor systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Possess basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to speak and write in English.
- Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and plumbing.
- Skilled in repairing mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Bears professionalism to work in a team environment.
- Proper use of all hand and power tools.
- Observe products quality to determine problems.
- Ability to identify all bearings and their placement.
- Ability to perform machine rebuild with little to no supervision.
- Install/align closed gear drives.
- Maintain safety guards.
- Fabricate hydraulic lines.
- Neat and clean workstation.
- Perform proper Lock Out.
Working Conditions:
This position is required to stand and walk up to 2/3 of the time. This position is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch, talk or hear more than 2/3 of the time. This position does require the individual to lift up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and/or humid as well as cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, louder than normal environments, and high-paced atmosphere.
