Key Responsibilities
- Configure, calibrate, and verify control systems to ensure operational sequences are fulfilled
- Confirm that all field-installed devices are properly addressed, communicating, and functioning
- Conduct thorough point-to-point check-outs on controllers
- Complete necessary documentation for processing promptly, including controller verification forms and work orders
- Report job conditions accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide as-built documentation and assist in project close-out while maintaining professionalism
- Support owner training and commissioning efforts to deliver a fully operational system
- Communicate effectively with team members, including maintaining a daily log
- Assist other departments and trades as needed (including control installations and modifications)
- Maintain the assigned company vehicle
- Care for all company-provided tools and resources
Required Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC control systems, building automation, electrical systems, and energy management
- Proficient in programming and troubleshooting with Honeywell, Tridium, JCI FX, Carrier, and Trane control systems
- Familiarity with the technical language associated with automation and mechanical systems
- Understanding of local building codes
- Possess even temperament and sound judgment
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to understand and execute project completion
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and team members, ensuring excellent communication
- Minimum of 1 year of technical schooling and 1+ years of experience in DDC/BAS control system start-up, check-out, and service, or 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with configuration/programming and troubleshooting using Tridium, Honeywell, JCI FX, JCI PCT, Carrier, and Trane software
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Candidates should be physically fit, capable of lifting 50 lbs. of tools or equipment
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel as necessary
- Comfortable with climbing ladders and working from heights using scissor lifts
- Familiarity with the safe operation of required tools
