Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality patient care at Christus Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic procedures using state-of-the-art computerized MRI diagnostic imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including those of a more complex nature, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Utilize advanced computerized MRI diagnostic imaging equipment to capture high-quality images and provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Assist radiologists in invasive and biopsy-type procedures using MRI equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Program the computer to ensure completion of exams and store scan data correctly on the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for future reference.
  • Coordinate and prioritize procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
  • Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system.
  • Demonstrate and maintain competence with all age-specific groups to ensure proper completion of studies.
  • Adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA)-approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a clinical imaging setting is highly preferred.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in MRI preferred.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
