Job Summary

The API Inspector is responsible for performing inspections in accordance with API standards to ensure the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of API standards and regulations, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain mechanical integrity.
  • Recommend and approve repairs, as well as perform visual inspection of completed repair work.
  • Assist in scheduling activities related to inspection and maintenance.
  • Write detailed inspection and turnaround reports, and maintain documentation of inspection activities.
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks associated with equipment maintenance and inspection.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school or other related training preferred.
  • Previous industry-related experience preferred.
  • Must possess valid API certification.
  • Must possess valid Driver's License.
  • Travel requirement: 0% - 50%.
Work Environment
  • Position is based out of a branch or site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to investigations.
