Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Sappi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing capital projects through all phases, including pre-feasibility study, conceptual design, execution planning, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, optimization, and close-out.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scope of work, schedules, and estimates for capital projects as required for budgeting.
• Provide technical engineering and project management oversight for the design, installation, and maintenance of plant systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting related to operations and maintenance.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies related to area.
• Prepare hydro dam safety quarterly inspection reports and annual Dam Safety Surveillance Monitoring Plans and Reports for submittal to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university required.
• Civil engineering experience in an industrial setting including proven project management, structural design and civil infrastructure design skills is preferred, but entry level will be considered.
• Pulp and Paper experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and AutoCAD preferred.
