Job Summary

This position provides support to agricultural research efforts by collecting data and maintaining research plots. The successful candidate will have experience in agriculture or basic science and be able to work in adverse weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect research information and maintain research plots, including planting, irrigating, cultivating, and harvesting
  • Drive between research plots on and off the AREC grounds to carry out tasks
  • Work in a team environment to achieve research goals

Requirements

  • Experience and/or education in agriculture or basic science
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tobacco, forage, livestock, row crop, and/or vegetable production
  • Knowledge of duties required in the production and research of crops in fields, greenhouses, and laboratories
