Job Summary

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our team. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, including offices, hallways, and patient rooms
  • Perform janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed
  • Assist with special events and projects as required
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient operation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in janitorial or facilities maintenance preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
