Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Casting Supervisor, the Holding Operator is tasked with the secure operation of all Holding Furnaces, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations, participating in mandatory meetings. Report any unsafe behaviors or conditions to the supervisor.
  • Provide relief for the caster operator during breaks and meal times.
  • Maintain precise records of operations.
  • Set up and operate equipment as necessary, inputting data into the Production Control System (PCS).
  • Conduct cleaning, repairs, and inspections of the furnaces as needed.
  • Monitor equipment operations, identifying and addressing any faults or defective materials, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Keep the work area, machinery, and tools organized and clean.
  • Comply with established quality and performance standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; or three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and memos.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and capable of using measuring tools such as micrometers and tape measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
