The University of Rochester is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Strong Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of patient samples, low complexity/automated test analysis, and reporting of results.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze patient samples using current low complexity laboratory methods/instrumentation (40%)
- Perform quality control and quality assurance protocols (20%)
- Report results of patient sample analysis using computer/instrument interface options (20%)
- Perform the duties of a Clinical Technologist II as needed (10%)
- Answer telephone inquiries (5%)
- Perform instrument preventative maintenance as scheduled or needed (5%)
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology required or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Clinical Laboratory Technician NYS licensure upon hire required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Competitive hourly rate: $28.47 - $39.84
