Surgical Nurse Coordinator Leadership Role

Welcome to Del Sol Medical Center, a leading healthcare provider in the region. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Nurse Coordinator to join our team.
About the Role
The Surgical Nurse Coordinator is a key member of our nursing staff, responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the surgical unit during the designated shift. As a leader on our team, you will collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of quality patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Current Compact or Texas RN License
- Associate Degree, Nursing (or Bachelor's Degree preferred)
- ACLS, PALS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred.
- At least one year of clinical experience in OR; specialty coordinator experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work long hours and irregular schedules with many interruptions.
- Critical thinking ability and knowledge of body substance isolation techniques.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with ability to lead others and develop personal computer skills.
Benefits and Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan matching, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
