Job Description:

In the role of Traffic Control Specialist at Brevard County, you will be responsible for performing experienced service work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic control devices. This includes maintaining warehouse inventory; material receiving operations as a sign warehouse technician; and working with and being cross-trained by the Traffic Sign Fabrication staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair traffic control devices to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues or damage
  • Collaborate with the Traffic Sign Fabrication team to develop and implement effective solutions
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need three years of experience in the installation and maintenance of traffic signs and/or pavement markings. You must also possess a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Additionally, you will need to obtain a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires you to be physically capable at all times of properly wearing and utilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). You must also be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time. In addition, you may be required to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity levels.
