About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced NEPA practitioner and project manager to join our team in the Mountain Region. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental planning and a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the NEPA planning process and oversee all aspects of a project, including client contact, budget control and invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, public interest facilitation, technical approach, and subcontractor involvement
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and local governments
  • Help organize technical studies and ecological resource teams with assessments and various natural resource surveys
  • Lead the preparation of NEPA documentation, including environmental impact statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Categorical Exclusions (CEs)
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing endeavors
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and sound knowledge of NEPA requirements and related environmental regulations
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to motivate others
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple planning projects and ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and to prioritize and balance sometimes heavy workloads to achieve goals while keeping up with a highly mobile and changing environment
  • Must demonstrate an ability in collaborative problem-solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with various NEPA requirements (BLM, NPS, and/or USFS NEPA process and requirements preferred)
Education and Experience

B.S. in planning and/or related environmental discipline; Master's degree in planning and/or related environmental discipline preferred.

Minimum 10 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience performing NEPA analysis and permitting for various types of federal, State, and local regulatory agencies.
