Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Med Surg

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team at a top-rated healthcare facility in Schenectady, New York. As a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Travel Nurse RN Med Surg will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This includes conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and implementing appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide bedside care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, including pre- and post-operative patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures and develop individualized care plans.
  • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
Requirements:
  • BLS certification
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
