Job Title: Histology Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Manager to join our team at KA Recruiting Inc. in South Carolina.

Job Summary:

The Histology Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Histology department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in laboratory Performance Improvement activities, including resolution of customer service issues and evaluation of new equipment and procedures.
  • Supervise Histology Technicians and Technologists, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and completing performance evaluations.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and related documents.
  • Participate in various committees and attend company meetings as required.
  • Ensure maintenance and QC of all applicable reagents and ensure all instrument and reagent validations are complete.
  • Maintain inventory of reagents and supplies for the area of supervision.
  • Evaluate and solve problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens for analysis.
  • Perform, assign, and oversee pre and post-analytical activities related to anatomic pathology tests assigned.
  • Adhere to all Safety policies and to all rules and regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
  • Utilize automated Histology equipment properly according to lab procedures and manufacturers' instructions.
  • Handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals, and/or irritants appropriately and safely.
  • Learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.
  • Ensure timely distribution of completed patient materials to assigned pathologists.
  • Oversee QA/QC as required by regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
  • College graduate.
  • ASCP certification.
  • Prior experience and knowledge, including supervisory.
