Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care with physicians and assist with assessments
- Administer medications pursuant to physician orders
- Assist with administrative duties that further patient care
- Provide clinical support, including greeting patients, preparing them for exams, and taking vital signs
- Assist physicians with procedures and tests, such as spirometry and breathing tests
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
- Perform patient education and complete documentation in patients' medical records
- Call in prescriptions as ordered by physicians or nurse practitioners
- Perform allergy prick testing and administer allergy injections as ordered
- Maintain emergency equipment and respond to patient-related telephone calls
- Follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations as requested
- Maintain clinical supply stock and medication samples
- High school degree required
- CMA certificate desirable
- At least one year of experience in clinical assisting
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
- Good communication skills
- Neat, professional appearance
