About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Readiness Engineer to join our team at Aleron. As a key member of our R&D organization, you will play a critical role in the development of our next-generation robotic platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to transition complex electromechanical assemblies from prototype to verification builds and testing.
  • Support the development of assembly and test processes, including the creation of build instructions, inspection procedures, and test protocols.
  • Specify firmware and software development requirements for testing and building fixtures.
  • Author relevant documents, such as build process instructions, assembly instructions, and system documentation.
  • Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
  • Communicate with vendors and manage procurement issues.
  • Support the creation of Design History Files (DHF) and release of documentation to the quality system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Robotics or Mechatronics or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in electromechanical R&D engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in developing, building, and testing complex electro-mechanical medical devices, design transfer, and process validation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical, mechatronics, firmware, software, and systems engineering, including design verification testing and transfer to manufacturing within a regulated medical device development environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for testing).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in managing engineering projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design transfer/new product introduction.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design verification of complex medical devices.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in medical device design control.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in transferring design to manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in MS Office and Solid Works.
Preferred Skills
  • Expertise with firmware and software within electromechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of PCBAs (understanding the design, testing, and documentation).
  • Experience in off-the-shelf component selection for regulated industries.
  • Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab and MATLAB.
