TRC DSP Aide

The Resource Center is a leading provider of services to individuals with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area. Our mission is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life.

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate TRC DSP Aide to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will provide direct care and supervision to individuals with disabilities, implementing their Habilitation Plans and promoting independence, inclusion, and productivity.

1. Learn and implement individual Habilitation Plans, including milestones, behavior management programs, and staff actions.
2. Provide direct care and supervision, encouraging and guiding individuals in acquiring and carrying out skills in personal care and daily living.
3. Assist with lifting and transferring, utilizing approved techniques, as needed or assigned.
4. Monitor and report on the health and well-being of assigned individuals, ensuring adequate diet and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
5. Participate in community outings and activities, promoting socialization and inclusion.
6. Complete required documentation, including milestones, activity schedules, and behavior management programs.
7. Intervene in situations of maladaptive behavior, utilizing SCIP protocols and procedures.
8. Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and family members, advocating for the needs of individuals with disabilities.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, as established by the agency insurance carrier.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and their families.
• Physical condition commensurate with demands of the job, including the ability to assist in lifting and transferring on a regular basis.
