Job Summary
Baptist Health is seeking a skilled Surgical ICU Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic nursing care, such as changing bandages and administering medications.
- Assist with patient transfers and mobility.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) or completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student.
- One (1) year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home or home care setting preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety principles.
- Medical terminology training preferred.
- CPR certification.
